GUWAHATI, August 22, 2026:The Entrepreneurship Cell of The Assam Royal Global
University (RGU) has successfully organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from 17th-21st
Aug, 2026 on “Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Start-up Development” bringing together faculty members,
academic leaders and aspiring innovators to strengthen their understanding of entrepreneurship and the
evolving start-up ecosystem. The programme concluded with the celebration of World Entrepreneurship Day with
the participation of Dr Nayanjyoti Goswami, MD, Assam Startup.
Eminent academicians, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and experts from the start-up ecosystem
interacted with participants through expert sessions, discussions, activities and experiential learning. The
experts include Dr Shantanu Mohan Deka from IIE Guwahati; CA Nishant Aggarwal, Prof. Sanjib Raj, Director
Assam Institute of Management and Dr Nayanjyoti Goswami, MD, Assam Startup; Dr. Sriparna Bhuyan Baruah,
Director EDC-RGU, apart from RGU faculty members. Participants were from different parts of the country who
joined in hybrid mode.
The programme focused on developing an entrepreneurial mindset among educators and equipping participants
with practical knowledge of ideation, innovation, design thinking, business model development, start-up
management, intellectual property rights, funding opportunities, incubation and commercialisation of
innovative ideas. The sessions highlighted the growing importance of entrepreneurship education in preparing
students to become job creators, innovators and responsible contributors to economic development. The
programme also provided a platform for participants to explore contemporary entrepreneurial opportunities
and understand the institutional support mechanisms available for nurturing innovative ideas.
