Topper Scholarships on 57 students in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Even Semester
Examination 2025–26. The programme was attended by the Deans of all Schools, Heads of Departments, faculty
members and students.
The scholarships were awarded under several categories, including the Merit Scholarship, Zubeen Garg
Scholarship for Promotion of Extracurricular Activities, and scholarships for wards of Military,
Paramilitary and Police Personnel from the Northeastern region. The scholarship recipients are entitled to
fee waivers of up to 100%, 50% and 25%, recognising their academic excellence, special achievements and
contributions to society.
Apart from the newly inducted students, 57 RGU students were awarded the Semester Topper Scholarship for
their exceptional performance in the Even Semester Examination 2025–26. In addition, 25 students already
receiving other prestigious scholarships were felicitated with Certificates of Merit for their commendable
achievements.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. George A.P., Dean, RSB & RSC, RGU, congratulated the scholarship recipients
and emphasised that while academic achievements and certificates recognise performance, character,
creativity, courage and the ability to make a positive difference are far more enduring measures of success.
He urged the students to cultivate these qualities, use their education to think innovatively and face
challenges with courage. He further emphasised that the ultimate test of success would be their ability to
lead with social responsibility, create opportunities for others and contribute meaningfully to society.
Encouraging the students to make the most of the opportunities available at the University, he urged them to
pursue their aspirations with dedication while remaining committed to building a more inclusive and
responsible society.
