The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences is committed to producing skilled and competent laboratory
professionals who form the backbone of modern healthcare by providing accurate and timely diagnostic
services. The department combines quality education with practical laboratory training to equip students
with the knowledge and technical expertise required for excellence in clinical diagnostics and
biomedical sciences.
Designed in accordance with the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP)
standards, the curriculum encompasses clinical biochemistry, microbiology, haematology, histopathology,
immunology, cytology, molecular diagnostics, transfusion medicine, laboratory management, and quality
control. Through extensive clinical postings and hands-on training in advanced diagnostic laboratories
and healthcare institutions, students develop the competencies necessary to support patient diagnosis,
disease surveillance, treatment monitoring, and medical research.
The department fosters a culture of scientific inquiry, innovation, professionalism, and ethical
practice, preparing graduates to become proficient Medical Laboratory Scientists who contribute
significantly to patient care, public health, research, and the continuous advancement of laboratory
medicine at national and international levels.
A state-of-art diagnostic laboratory under the aegis of the Royal School of Medical and Allied Sciences. The diagnostic laboratory caters to the requirements of the students pursuing a diploma and B.Sc. program in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS). In addition, the laboratory also extends support services to the community at large through the Royal Swasthya Seva which offers free medical services. The reports generated by the lab are used to check the primary health status of the individuals.
