- Prof. Dileep Chandan is a journalist, author, and academic with nearly four decades of experience in journalism, media leadership, and public discourse. He has been associated with leading newspapers and media organizations in the North East and beyond, most notably as Editor of Asam Bani and Dainik Asam, and in senior editorial roles for The Sunday(ABP),Sadin and Ajir Samay. He currently also holds the position of Distinguished Fellow - Gauhati University, Member - Executive Council Gauhati University, Member - Gauhati University Court, Board of Trustee - Media Trust Assam, Vice-President - Kaziranga Wildlife Society etc. An accomplished author of 24 books focusing on the socio-political, cultural, and historical dimensions of North East India, he is also a recipient of several prestigious national awards and fellowships in journalism and literature such as Sarojini Naidu Award for journalism, Harivansh Rai Bachchan Award for journalism, Syed Abdul Malik Literary Award for Ballad of Kaziranga, The Sentinel Rural Reporting Award, KK Birla Foundation Fellowship (Hindustan Times) etc. He has also contributed extensively to academia as a guest lecturer and honorary faculty at reputed institutions. Prof. Chandan brings with him rich professional, academic, and institutional experience.
