GUWAHATI, February 18, 2026: Nihar Ranjan Deka, who secured Rank 1 in the Assam Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination (APSC CCE) 2024, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to his alma mater, The Assam Royal Global University (RGU), for shaping his academic journey and overall personality.
A proud alumnus of the Department of B.Tech. Civil Engineering (Batch 2017–21), Deka credited the university’s academic environment, faculty mentorship, and institutional support for nurturing his intellectual growth and discipline.
The university authorities today congratulated their two illustrious alumni — Nihar Ranjan Deka (Rank 1) and Suman Malakar (Rank 12) — who brought laurels to the institution through their outstanding performance in the highly competitive state civil services examination, the results of which were declared yesterday.
Speaking to Prof. Dr Diganta Munshi, Registrar (Administration), Royal Global University, a delighted and humble Nihar Ranjan Deka said that his years at RGU played a pivotal role in shaping his intellectual abilities, discipline, and confidence. He acknowledged the unwavering encouragement and academic rigor of the university, which helped him remain focused and motivated throughout his preparation journey.
In this context, Prof. Dr Munshi said that the university takes immense pride in the remarkable achievements of its alumni. He further informed that Nihar Ranjan Deka will soon visit the university to interact with aspiring students, sharing his experiences and guiding them in their preparation for competitive examinations.
Suman Malakar, who secured Rank 12, is an alumnus of the Department of B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (Batch 2017–21). His achievement has further added to the growing list of success stories of RGU graduates.
