Royal Global University Honoured as “Most Eminent University of North East India” at Education Eminence Awards 2026
GUWAHATI, June 21, 2026:
In a significant recognition of its outstanding contribution to higher education, The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has been conferred the prestigious “Most Eminent University of North East India” Award at the Education Eminence Awards 2026, organised by News18 Assam North East in association with the Lions Club.
The award was presented by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of Assam, at a grand ceremony held in Guwahati yesterday in the presence of eminent academicians, educationists, policymakers, and distinguished guests from across the region. The award was received on behalf of the University by Dr. Rani Pathak Das, Public Relations Officer, RGU.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ranoj Pegu emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence in education, stating that such awards serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement for educational institutions striving to achieve higher standards. He highlighted that education today must go beyond the dissemination of information and focus on developing skills, competencies, and values that prepare students for the challenges of the future. He also appreciated News18 Assam North East for instituting the Education Eminence Awards and creating a platform to celebrate educational achievements and innovation.
Expressing his delight at the recognition, Dr. A. K.
